Fox Rothschild Law Firm – CMMC Webinar

Fox Rothschild Law Firm has invited Damon Hacker, President & CEO of Vestige, to present a webinar on:
CMMC 2.0 – It’s Here Now What – Law Firm Focus
This presentation delves into the DoD’s cybersecurity evolution from NIST 800-171 to the new CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) and specifically targets information relevant to CMMC v2.0. As the rule has now been published in the Federal Register (12/26/2023) and the Public Comment period ended, we are collectively awaiting the remaining processes to play out.
This presentation will address the DoD’s rationale for implementing CMMC as well as explore what the new proposed rule is and is not. (Hint: it doesn’t add any cybersecurity requirements to what DIB members should have already been doing!). We will look at the specific requirements, compare and contrast the current program (DFARS 252.204-7012, 252.204.7019-7021 and 252.204.7024 – what we colloquially call “NIST 800-171”), and discuss the manner in which organizations trying to implement these practices get stuck. We will conclude with a complete path forward on becoming certified and explore why the process will likely take most organizations 6 months or more to become certified.
Benefits of Attending:
• Understand the requirements DoD Suppliers have under NIST 800-171, CMMC 2.0 and the Interim Rule
• Learn what steps need to be taken now to ensure the organization will still be able to win DoD contracts (as a prime) or work on them (as a subcontractor)
• Understand the CMMC 2.0 framework so that you know what organizations need to have in-place
Attendees Will Learn:
• Learn the important information in CMMC v2.0 that needs to be conveyed to your clients that have NIST 800-171/CMMC requirements”
• The difference between NIST 800-171 and CMMC and the changes introduced in CMMC v2.0
• What the CMMC Framework includes and what compliance entails, and
• How to “get it done”
