The Colorado Defense Lawyers Association  (CDLA) is hosting its annual Summer Conference titled, “A Changing World“.

The event takes place Thursday, Aug. 1 through Saturday, Aug. 3.  It is being held at the El Dorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

CDLA is a statewide organization that is nearly 800 members strong and is dedicated to the defense of civil actions and the promotion of fairness and integrity in the civil justice system.

The organization is comprised of attorneys who defend the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. CDLA members benefit from access to resources and tools for legal professionals who strive to provide superior and balanced service to their clients. CDLA is host to five substantive committees whose focus is to develop ongoing and critical dialogue about areas of practice.

Attorneys will learn why Electronically Stored Information (ESI and cellular analysis can be crucial for cases. Vestige will go over a cellular tower case study, showing how location data can be used, along with the process of collecting email and cloud accounts. The presentation will also cover the volatility of electronic evidence and the need to collect it, as soon as possible. A demonstration on location mapping from social media application is also included.

Greg has been involved in the digital forensics field since 2000. He is responsible for the creation of ArcherHall’s Digital Forensics & E-Discovery infrastructure and continues to oversees this team to provide consistent high-quality results in a timely basis.

Greg has 20 years of experience working in the computer industry. His various positions and responsibilities included custom software design and implementation, network management and security, database programming, disaster recovery and end-user support. For the past 15 years, Greg has helped Vestige become one of the few companies capable of performing comprehensive digital forensic investigations. He has worked on criminal and civil matters covering areas such as intrusion and incident response, intellectual property theft, fraud and uncovering hidden assets. Greg is experienced and has testified in State court and Federal court in both civil and criminal cases.

Christian Mammarella, Senior Digital Forensic Examiner

Chris Mammarella, EnCE, is a Senior Forensic Analyst at ArcherHall.  Chris has over 17 years of military and law enforcement experience. He is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and previously worked in computer crimes for the State Attorney’s Office in the Sexual Predator Enforcement Unit in Florida.  Having received training from the Secret Service and other government agencies, Mr. Mammarella put his training to work investigating digital crimes for various law enforcement agencies and task forces.   He has testified in Federal, State, and Military Court and trained other officers in digital evidence investigation. He takes special interest in mobile device forensics as it relates to cellular towers and the evidence that can be uncovered.

Brian Chase, Managing Director of Digital Forensics & E-Discovery

Brian Chase is a Managing Director of Digital Forensics at ArcherHall, an expert witness, and an adjunct professor of law. He has a diverse background, including years working as a network administrator for the University of Arizona, a Management and Information Systems degree from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona, and a law degree from the same institution. Mr. Chase has worked with various sized law firms both in an IT and legal capacity, and he has consulted with firms on their use of technology within the office. He has also provided expert testimony in criminal and civil matters ranging from misdemeanors to murder to medical malpractice. Mr. Chase has published and spoken on various technology-related issues impacting law firms and parties in the civil and criminal justice system. He teaches various topics regarding law and technology, digital forensics and evidence, at a variety of legal and technical conferences.
